Two thousand years ago in Bethlehem
A King was born who came
To save all men
The prophets told the time
Was coming when
He'd live to rule the world and all mankind
And thousands flocked to follow
Where He led
They listened eagerly to what He said
He healed the sick, and brought back
From the dead
His mighty power came from
The Father God
A perfect man, a life of Holiness
Compassionate, a Prince of righteousness
Forgiving all, and teaching selfiessness
The Deity revealed in human form

But leaders, frightened, shouted "crucify"
They nailed Him to a wooden cross up high
So innocent, and yet He had to die
He gave His life because He loved us all
Now years have passed
His love spreads far and wide
And millions know Him as their Holy guide
He will return, the church shall be His bride
As we proclaim that
Jesus Christ is Lord
