New Day - Doug Gilmore |

| About This Work ...
This album continues with the strength of the first album, Diamonds, in prophetic praise and worship. One notable feature is the appearance of worship leader Doug's harmonica playing ' soulful on the slow tracks and gritty on the upbeat songs.
Like the first CD, all the songs were written by musicians from within DGWM. Doug and the worship team continue to present new sounds and prophetic worship in the two Selah (prophetic improvisation) tracks. The Fig Tree song in the center of the album (taken from Habakkuk) is a statement that even if things go wrong, yet will I praise the Lord. The title track New Day features Todd Berger as lead vocal, with acoustic guitar and strummed violin and conjures up the refreshed hope and purpose of a new morning.
The graphic on the album cover - a prison gate opening to reveal a sunrise on the distant horizon exemplifies the focus of this album. Doug believes that there is a thread that runs throughout a project, whether live or recorded, that God weaves in order to encourage us in some way. The greatest new day in history was the day of the Resurrection and it is the freedom that was gained for us on that day which this album promotes. New Day holds its own against other praise and worship albums available and those who already know Diamonds will not be disappointed.
Doug and the team have again given us an album of praise and worship music with their own style of music (I call it blue eyed soul). Their unique sound uses horns, violin, soaring guitar and harmonica. Each instrument is used to create the mood and spirit of a given song.
